Sustainability

What makes Naledi sustainable?

At Naledi, we ensure sustainability is a pillar on which we make all our decisions. We’re committed to making changes to reduce our footprint as a brand, through the design, production, shipping processes and through carbon offsetting projects.

How do we minimise waste in production?

The beauty of Naledi’s limited production means that each piece produced is well considered. Our limited production runs and assembly process, means we can radically reduce wastage by producing based on demand.

How do we reduce our carbon footprint as a brand?

By minimising the use of non-natural materials in production, limited production runs to minimise waste and using beautifully designed, recyclable packaging to deliver our Naledi treasures to you. Together with the above, Naledi plants a tree for each order placed. This is to help offset the carbon footprint created from production and shipping.

Why do we prioritise natural materials?

We believe that the elements of natural materials accentuate the jewellery that is created and gives them a rawer authenticity. Natural materials (crystals, stone, pearls, etc) are not perfect and therein lies their beauty. Each piece is unique and will have a character that is ever so slightly different to the next.

Why do we plant a tree for each order placed by you?

We believe that every effort needs to be made in reducing the impact of a business on the planet. At Naledi we are committed to planting a tree for each order placed. We are creating a Naledi forest. A forest of indigenous trees across the world in areas most affected by deforestation. The re-forestation of these natural habitats not only help the wider natural ecosystems they are in, but also provide employment opportunities to the communities surrounding them.

Who is Tree Nation and why have we partnered with them?

Tree Nation operates around the world in areas that have suffered from deforestation. CO2 offsetting, thanks to reforestation and conservation projects, helps to restore forests, create jobs, and support local communities whilst protecting biodiversity.
